This FDA-approved injectable, also known as botulinum toxin type A, blocks the release of acetylcholine – a wrinkle-causing chemical released by our nerve cells. How is Botox® Cosmetic Performed?

The Botox® Cosmetic procedure is quick and painless. Often called a “lunchtime” procedure, it is performed directly in our Maumee office and only takes a few minutes to complete. Your technician will use a very fine needle to inject the Botox® solution into the targeted area on your face. Once complete, your facial muscles will be relaxed and wrinkle-free.

What Kind of Post-Operative Botox® Cosmetic Care Can I Expect?

Botox® Cosmetic does not require any downtime, although your doctor may suggest that you refrain from lying down or rubbing the treated area for several hours, as this could cause the solution to migrate to other areas of the body. Most of our patients return to work and normal activities immediately following the treatment.

You may experience some slight bruising and headaches, but there are no incisions, bandages, or anything else associated with traditional surgical procedures.

What are the Typical Results of Botox® Cosmetic?
