Arrowhead Plastic Surgeons offers chin implants to patients in Toledo, Maumee, Perrysburg, Bowling Green, Findlay, Sylvania and the surrounding areas.
What are Chin Implants?
A chin implant or augmentation is done to balance the chin with the rest of the face. Sometimes, a weak chin can cause your nose to look larger or your neck to look “fleshy.” By inserting a chin implant, you can strengthen the appearance of a receding or a weak chin and create a stronger, more proportional look.
At Arrowhead Plastic Surgeons, we strive to give every patient our utmost respect, professionalism and expertise. We welcome new patients from Toledo, Maumee, Perrysburg and the surrounding areas, and we'd be happy to set up your consultation today. In the meantime, take a look at some chin implant before and after pictures to get a better idea of what this procedure can do for you.
How are Chin Implants Performed?
The chin implant procedure, also known as mentoplasty, starts with your surgeon making an incision under the chin or inside the mouth. A sizer is placed first to determine what size implant best enhances the proportion of your face. The sizer is then removed and the appropriate implant is placed. Finally, your incision will be closed with sutures.
Am I a Good Candidate for Chin Implants?
If you are a man or woman who is in generally good physical and mental health, and you're unhappy with the look of your weak chin, you may be a good candidate for a chin implant. Ideally, your jaws and teeth should also be functioning properly to obtain the best results.
Your medical background will also play a part in whether or not you are a good candidate for this procedure. If you have any immune system problems, if you're suffering from hypertension or other cardiac problems, or if you're a smoker, you may not be a suitable candidate. Discuss your medical history with your doctor prior to the surgery.
What Kind of Post-Operative Chin Implant Care Can I Expect?
It's not uncommon to experience some mild soreness and swelling following the mentoplasty procedure, causing your chin to feel tight. To reduce the swelling, you should keep your head elevated as much as possible. And while you should limit your activity for the first few days post surgery, you will be back to work and normal activities within a week.
What are the Typical Results of Chin Implants?
Most of our patients are thrilled with their new facial structure following chin implant surgery. With a stronger profile and a much more balanced appearance, our patients report a big boost in self-confidence as well. To see what a dramatic difference this surgery can make, take a look at some chin implant before and after pictures.
What are Maumee Chin Implant Costs?
If you want to discuss chin implant prices, it's best to call our offices and speak with a member of our staff. Because each patient is different, chin implant costs tend to vary. That's why we recommend coming in for a consultation, where you can sit down with the doctor face to face and discuss all of your questions and concerns prior to surgery.
