How is a Forehead Lift Performed?

During your forehead lift procedure, the surgeon will make an incision above the ears, either in front of or behind the hairline. This allows him to remove excess skin and lift the eyebrows to a more ideal position. The procedure typically takes between 30 and 90 minutes, and is performed using general anesthesia.

Am I a Good Candidate for a Forehead Lift?

The best forehead lift candidates are those who have good skin tone and elasticity, which allows the skin to move and stretch easily. And although most of our patients are over the age of 40, some younger patients do elect to have this surgery to correct the look of their furrowed brows.

What Kind of Post-Operative Forehead Lift Care Can I Expect?

Following your forehead lift, you may experience some swelling and bruising. In some cases, you may even develop a temporary black eye. Be sure to keep your head elevated and apply cold compresses to decrease these side effects.

Your bandages will be removed within a couple of days, and you should be able to resume normal daily activities within two weeks. Strenuous activity, however, should be avoided for several weeks. Recovery varies from patient to patient, and your doctor can prescribe medication to help manage any pain.
