How is Fraxel Performed?

Prior to administering the laser treatment, your Fraxel technician will clean the skin and apply a topical anesthetic. Once the ointment takes effect, your technician will apply the laser, which targets the dermis layer of the skin. Once complete, the topical anesthetic will be removed.

All Fraxel treatments are performed in our Maumee office, lasting only about 20 to 25 minutes.

Am I a Good Candidate for Fraxel?

Fraxel is approved to treat a variety of conditions, including fine lines and wrinkles, age spots, sun-induced redness and Melasma. You may also be a good candidate for Fraxel if you want to treat skin discoloration, uneven pigmentation, acne and surgical scars or actinic keratosis.

What Kind of Post-Operative Fraxel Care Can I Expect?

You may experience some redness of the skin, similar to a sunburn, following your Fraxel treatment. Make sure to keep your skin moisturized and out of direct sun exposure for at least three months. Your old skin cells will soon slough off, making way for new skin and collagen to develop.

Fraxel patients experience little to no downtime, so you'll be able to return to work and normal activities immediately. Every patient's skin is different, though. Contact your doctor if you notice any unusual or painful side effects.
